Born during the war years and moved from Eastern Canada, finally settling in Southern Alberta at the end of the war. Spent my younger years on a farm where we grew wheat and raised Angus cattle, before enrolling at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology to study arts and sciences. I joined the RCAF to take a six month course in aerial photography, then joined the research department at Imperial Oil in Calgary, and worked there as a geological draftsperson for many years.

We moved to Tsawwassen in the early 70’s where I changed careers by going back to college to become a Registered Nurse specializing in Palliative Care. I have been a member of the Delta Hospice Society for many years, and still volunteer at the Irene Thomas Residence in Ladner. I also am a member of the South Delta GO Go’s (Grandmothers to Grandmothers), a division of the Stephen Lewis Foundation. My other interests involve supporting two children at “Mission in Action”, an orphanage in Kenya, as well as sponsoring two rescued baby elephants at the David Sheldrick Foundation in Nairobi.

Over the years I have dabbled in many arts and crafts hobbies before joining the SDAG in February of 2015.
